I don't know but that appears like a pretty nasty crack, tho it barely shows in the two other pictures!

I'm not sure if it is a scam, why point out faults if it is? And Paypal, if you pay with CC you have fraud protection (you do in the UK anyway).

Of course you have fraud protection--paid by Paypal, who then tries to go after the scammer, who is long gone.
And then eventually Paypal rates go up.

If someone is willing to bid what it should take to get this guitar -- even with the crack -- they'll be willing to make the personal contact with the seller and make an arrangement to see more pics, even see the guitar. I wouldn't consider trying for this guitar without putting forth that effort (given the zero feedback, etc.), even in spite of the fact that this is my dream guitar. Oh well, I don't have the cash for this one anyway...

Paul, when I got ripped off (paid with CC/Paypal, seller did a runner) I didn't claim from Paypal. I went directly to the CC company (in UK law my contract is with them, not Paypal) and they just gave me the money back no trouble. Paypal were not impressed though judging by the threatening mail that they sent me.

Peter, my point was this: when somebody gets ripped off, everybody pays. Doesn't matter what your options are in individual circumstances.

If he is real he's got a pretty nice Super Reverb for sale. Wonderful guitar amp, that. Silver face & not in perfect shape, but still nice.

Reverb, schmeverb. Doesn't anyone think outside the box when it comes to amps?
He's got a very fine Magnatone M10. It may not have the sheer volume of a SR, but migod what a sweet tube amp, "Son of Samsonite", and polka-band kool.

I just know what I've heard personally. My buddy Mike had a '73 or '74 silver face that sounded incredible & was in almost showroom condition.
I had never had a lot of regard for Fender amps until I heard this one. I had always heard the usual twins & they sounded harsh to me.
I missed out on all that early small tube amp stuff, only being born in '66

Kevin; I've got a 66 blackface showman brain that I call my folk bass brain, sometimes the svt brain is too much, and 90 lbs, the fender 30lbs, you are as old as my showman, and the gtr player I play with has a silver face Sr, he just loaded it with celestians, and the tone he gets is to die for, no SRV tho for us, a little more uptown in the blues dpt..ric-ardo
