Hey everyone.... My G & B-string keep sticking at the nut on my 360WB. I was wondering if anyone has tried any alternative nuts on Rickenbackers. I've had this problem with several others in the past: 330, 360, 380L. I keep getting them set-up by "professionals" but they just seem to be very tempermental. Any info would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers!

What guage strings are you using? Is it still the original black phenolic nut? For a simple possible "quick fix", try rubbing a #2 pencil in the nut slot; this puts graphite powder residue in the slot, and possibly could help your situation. If it Does work, gently pull the rest of the strings out of their respective slots, one at a time, and repeat the procedure.

My guitar tech uses a mixture of graphite and petroleum jelly to lube the nut. It seems to work very well. The graphite (pencil lead) does most of the lubrication work, and I suspect the Vaseline is in the mix to KEEP the graphite in place.

The Vaseline would be good on brass nuts, and probably the Rick black phenolic,as well as graphite nuts, but apparently it is NOT a good idea to use it on bone or ivory, as it has a way of softening those organic materials.
