Can anyone recommend a capo that I could use on my 6 and 12 string Rickenbackers?

I need to draw on your experience, since I do not want to damage the finish on the neck.

I use a Schubb capo on both my 6-and 12-string Rics, as well as on my acoustic. I have never had any problems with it.

I was just looking at one of those on Musicians Friends website. Have you tried the Dunlop Trigger Flat Capo? They look like they are pretty good also.

I use a Kyser KG6B Quick Change and it works fine. There is also the KG12B which is designed for 12 string, but may also be suitable for 6ers.

Kyser shows one for drop E tuning as well. Hmmm. That did not help me make my mind at all. It seems I would need one of those too.

I use a G7th, it is the best that I have ever had for 12 strings. No dead or nipped sharp strings.

I side with my australian buddy once again: I use a Kyser too.

I have a G7, and I agree with Peter... it's superb. The G7 for 6-strings works great with my 12-string Rics. Not one 'dead spot'. I've never owned as fine a capo, and I highly recommend it.

It's odd but I have been playing guitar for almost 42 years. And aside from an early 1966 foray into using a capo for one song I have not used one since.

Boy has technology on this product changed since then! That's why I thought I should ask here for some advice.

The Kyser does look good I will admit but it seems that I would need at least two of them and possibly a third for drop tuning.

I have to admit Steve that the G7 appears to be a winner in my books.

I use three Kysers, love 'em.

They are on my list right now but I am leaning towards the G7. Ideally I would like to find one to try locally but that's going to be a lost cause in our little town.

Brian, buy one from their web site, you won't be disappointed. I use a standard one on a Gibson 12 string acoustic and it works perfectly. When I used a Shubb I was messing around for ages between songs trying to get it right, but with the G7th I just nip it on, anywhere on the neck, and perfect results first time and every time. (I should be getting commission from G7th, shouldn't I?)

Thanks Peter for pointing that out. I have sent off an e-mail asking them who sells them in our part of Canada. That way hopefully, I can get one a bit quicker.
