Favorite lines from the 60s?

That's about the following... sometimes it occurs to me that i like some song for just one line, verse, or a little part of the tune. For instance, i cannot say i love the Tremeloes' "Even the bad times are good" but the first two lines of the refrain and this tune ("soon as i get to you ba-yebe") is just something wonderful IMHO.
Of course i could quote much more from, e.g., Simon&Garfunkel, etc... but i'm interested in your opinions - what are your favorite lines/song parts of the early 60s, maybe should restrict it to British invasion only...

"... He's a real Nowhere Man, sitting in his nowhere land, making all his nowhere plans for nobody ..."

"... we had such happiness together, I can't believe it's gone forever ..."

"... Who knows how long I've loved you, you know I love you still; will I wait a lonely lifetime, if you want me to I will ..."

Any misquoting is not intentional, just a (dys)function of my old memory ...

I look at the world and I notice it's turning
While my guitar gently weeps
With every mistake we must surely be learning
Still my guitar gently weeps

The best line and the best Harrison song ever.

Brian: this one is one of my favorites too! thank you for quotin' it...
Paul: lovely, could you please quote the rest of the song? 8-)

"till the butterflies and (in?) puppies' eyes lose their tenderness..."

Trust Paul to come up with those lyrics, but why not, it was 1961 actually Paul unless we're on different wavelengths which is highly probable

Mike was that Yesterday's Gone?

Took me ages to get Badge

Brian I would disagree on best Harrison song I would go for Something, but hey that's what the forum's about - opinions.

Sheena, one would have to be a dedicated Searchers fan to get that track but you broke your own rules not released in sixties.

How about

"I always knew why the sun was shining and why the clouds pass by and why the face of the moon was smiling in the dark night sky but I never knew about love Till I Met You" John McNally 1965

A topic that could go on forever no doubt. Roy Clough 2005

Monday morning feels so bad,
Ev'rybody seems to nag me
Coming Tuesday I feel better,
Even my old man looks good

Broke my own rules... cool 8-) okay, it wasn't released in the 60s, but it was written and recorded in the 60s, n'est-ce pas? Okay, okay, i don't argue... 8-) (and BTW, i'm not that dedicated, just like the song 8-).
Well... "'til i met you" is not among my favorites, to be true (and i thought it was 1963 or 1964 in fact... but i might be mistaken of course)...
Okay...
"I've been made blue, i've been lied to, when will i be loved" (know it by Wayne Fontana's version).
"I see your face before me as i lay on my bed"...
(Troggs, of course).
And lots of others...

Yes you are quite correct Sheena it was written and recorded for a BBC Session on 6/5/67.

Till I Met You not a favourite and here was I thinking you were a romantic Sheena.

Have you never heard the original version, of When Will I Be Loved, Sheena by the Everly Brothers, if not we'l correct that.

Lastly Reg Presley's pension eh!

I'm a "duality", Roy, in fact: both romantic and cynical... 8-) actually i did explain somewhere why i'm not much fond of this song in particular... methinks... albeit maybe only in my imagination...
And no, i haven't heard - in fact, any other than Wayne's version of "When will..." 8-)
(off: did you get my letter sent some days ago?)
PS: Reg is cute 8-) not as cute as Wayne perhaps, but still 8-)

Roy...a '61 release for the Marcels, to be sure. But it is soooo '50s in its ultimate doo-wopness, don'tcha think?

"Badge" is such a great song, but the lyrics are completely opaque to me (Ringo? What were you thinking of? Or just having a bit of fun?). There is a factory setting on the Tonelab SE called "Badge"...

Still one of the best versions of the song Paul though obviously not as writer intended. They had on more top ten hit in States but here in UK they had one small minor hit, made top 50 but only just I think and then that was it.

Re: "Something" Roy.

That's the second best song Harrison ever wrote IMO. A difference in opinion but one likely caused by (I am only guessing) you being somewhat more of a romantic soul than I am.

I happen to like songs that make observant, social or in the moment statements and Harrison nailed it with passion on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps".

His guitar playing was spot on too BTW.

Here's my second choice of great lines from a 60's song. This one does have a romantic tone, courtesy of Jack Bruce and Pete Brown.

"In the white room with black curtains near the station.
Blackroof country, no gold pavements, tired starlings.
Silver horses ran down moonbeams in your dark eyes.
Dawnlight smiles on you leaving, my contentment."
