Too good to be true

Im not only into Rics, I have a passion for Mosrites, I currantly own a Mosrite Celebrity 3 in mint condition. I follow them on ebay along with the Rics, anyway I found a Mosrite Celebrity on ebay listing # 7374132777, the seller claims it's all original in blond finish, Seamy Mosley did many one of a kind things to his guitars but I've never seen a blond one, I think it's a re-finish. But thats ok the guitar looks to be in great shape, the only problem is that it's in France, ebay says that they translated it and could'nt garrenty the translation, the price with 5hrs left is EUR 8.00, or $9.46 US !!!!???? I emailed the seller about shipping cost to the USA yesterday and have'nt heard back from him yet, although the ebay add states that the seller will ship world wide. I don't know if I should put a bid in on it, and does anybody have any idea what shipping a guitar from France to here would cost??? Or do you guys think this is too good to be true and I should avoid it like the plage??
Thanks,
Paul

If the guy won't talk, then it's probably a scam. Or he may need a translator.
Shipping would probably be in the neighborhood of $200. The big shipping companies would give you a rough estimate.

Yeah the shipping would be around $275.00, but then there would be customs to deal with and duties to pay and I hav'nt the faintest idea what they would be, but Im leary since I hav'nt heard back from the seller. Also just curious, does paypal protect the buyer from fraud?

Not to be picky, Paul, but don'tcha think that if you collect Mosrites, you should spell the inventor/designer's name correctly?

It's "Semie Moseley".

There ya have it, buddy.

I love the looks of Mosrites. When I bought my own third Ventures Album, and realized that they had switched to Mosrites, I became a huge Mosrite fan.

Oddly, the addresses given on the album for the Mosrite Corporation and the Ventures International Fan Club, were next door to each other, both on Highland Avenue in Hollywood.

At the time (1964), they were the snarliest sounding guitars out there.

Or maybe it was the amps.

Paul,
My spelling has always been my weakest link, funny though, when Im writing something with a pen my spelling is much better than when I type it out on the keyboard!!!??? It's probably one of my many mental querks! But yeah Mosrites are great guitars, I think they play similar to Rics, but not quite, my Celebrity has the Mosrite single coils and they are really hot, she's got a great twange.
As far as that Mosrite on ebay, well I don't think I'll touch it, further down the list of Mosrites that same guitar appears two more times only the location is China, and the seller is different , but it's the same guitar!!??
