I want to replace the old style strap screws on my 72 4001 with locking types from the website. Are the modern locking types on the ric site the same screw size? I ask because the screws on my 72 strap bolt (same as mute assembly) have a thicker screw.

thanks.

also, do they sell the 1/4 truss rod adjusting tool?

The locking strap buttons have exactly the same threading as the vintage style buttons. You can upgrade now and degrade if you want to go back to vintage in the future without damage to the guitar.

Boutique, accessories page, SKU 97002. Is there something we could have done better to help you find these more easily on the site?

Thanks John.

I just missed it because I did not know what it looked like. I expected it to be more "T" shaped. Maybe the site could also have that part available in the "trussrod" section. That was the first place I looked because I figured it might be the best area to find a tool to adjust trussrods.

Maybe we need a "tool" section.

I think this forum, at times, may qualify as the "tool" section........

"tool" is a very good band. Their original bass player used a ric.

Tool are amazing. Mmmmm, I love the smell of Crimson and Rush influence in the morning . . .

No albums or no Rush or Yes albums?

'cause I traded mine off in 2002. So you're not alone, John.

Did you throw yours away?

John, don't feel bad, the only Rush and Yes albums I have are the ones I found in a box of soaking wet LP's someone was throwing away.

never owned any. I know some rush singles from the radio. I'm not even sure if I could identify a Yes song that was played on the radio. I am curious though, what all the chris squire hype is.

You're not alone John. Don't own any Rush or Yes or Deep Purple...although I'm going to change that very soon.
