As I mentioned in the doubleneck thread, I found a 1976 4001 Fireglo I couldn't resist. It was for sale here in Norway.
I'm soooo happy to own a Fireglo!

That's one nice bass. More of a vintage fireglo color than most 4001/4003's I've seen.

Nice one, congrats, Lars.
I've had my eye on this one:

It needs a little Pickguardian help. The only thing is the seller claims he had feedback and a warranty. I don't see any feedback and how could he have a warranty on a 70's bass?

Nice Lars. Where did you find that one? How much.
There“s a couple of 4003 JG on QXL today:

Hey! That's one gorgeous '70s FG 4001. Is it 'vintage mint'? It sure looks like it.

Frode: The ad is still on
www.finn.no
Sergio: It is in an excellent condition, the jackplate even has the rick-o-sound lettering intact.
Very little yellowing, There's a hairline crack in the pickguard under the bridge pu. vol. pot. Hardly visible. The seller knocked off $150 because of it!!!

She's real purdy. I have one just like it from Feb, 1976. Mine might not get as blonde in the center, though.

Thanks for the compliments!
BTW I have not had time to play it through an amp, but I guess the bridge pu cap is still there. If it is, I'll bypass it.

It's a simple mod: I did this on my 4080, just tightly twist a short insulated piece of wire around both leads of the cap. That way you can take it off if you feel the need later & no soldering/unsoldering necessary.
