Here are six out of the eight, home for Christmas. Juliana (8) holds up her Electro.

(L to R) FG '83 Electro ES-16, Ruby '82 360WB, MG '60 365 Capri, MB '04 381V69, AG '81 325 (long story), MB '04 660/12 (The one that started it all...).

The 430 is at my office for lunch hours, and the BB 325/12 Test Body is at Mike Parks', awaiting its release.

It's been a heck of a Rickenyear!

That Electro sure looks fun to play! I bet she really likes the guitar.

Aitch, the AG 325 is formerly an '81 MG 320, which I refinished and rewired in the style of a '58. It, however, does have the later, thinner, body. As I said, long story.

I did do a brief photo essay on it back in July or August. It was titled "UP AT 4 AM". Does that jingle-jangle any memory cells?

Aha! Yes, now it rings a bell! All I needed was a good belt around the ears with a baseball bat and it all came flooding back..........

Paul, your '81 320 AG is a PERFECT '59 AG finish. I've never seen anyone come so close.

You know, it'd be great to have a reissue of those Electros. My kids would love 'em. They look just the right size.

Thanks, Jwilli. I copied the finish from one on Glen Lambert's page. It wasn't done to fool anybody, incidentally, but because I prefer the look of the Capri 325s.

Skip: The Electro was picked up at a swap meet in the East SF Bay area. It had spent about 20 years in its case, under a bed by the looks of things. There was heavy corrosion on the strings and frets and light corrosion on everything else. Took maybe 4 hours of disassembly and cleaning to set it right. It is one of the last produced, I'm told, dating to mid-1983. Not too many made with Hi Gain pickups; most had toasters.

I covered this in a previous post entitled "Sweet Little Sixteen". It's virtually mint unused. My girl is 8 and a little on the small side, so the Electro is still a bit big for her.

Kevin, I just picked up a Squier Mini for Juliana, which will be her "lesson guitar". Absolutely amazing value for $99.00. They come in red or black, but hers is being refinished pearlescent pink--her favorite color.

Skip: That li'l ES-16 has one of the prettiest aged FG colors I've ever seen. No fade, either, 'cause it's lived in its case.
