Colors for 381

Just curious what colors this model is available in. On the Ric site, it says MG,FG and JG but, on Mike Parks site, looking at the pricing, it says available in all current finishes. If that's so, I probably should have ordered one in BBR.

Not that I can even play well, but, it's just such an awesome looking piece. Would be a nice hollowbody to contrast with the solidbody 660MB I have. The appointments are just beautiful.

Marc, they're definitley available in every finish - i've seen 'em in everything but Burgundy and Desert Gold I think.

I still think that for a 381, Fireglo is far and away the nicest finish. But then again, i'm sure seeing a Blueburst would change my mind.

ALthough the others are nice...no other finish than MG in that guitar, with that beautiful maple! Let it GLO!

Hey Paul - your fretboard inlays look like they really shine! Kind of whiter, like the 60s models, compared to the grayer tones of the modern guitars. Is that camera trickery? Did you get lucky? Or have you treated them in some way?

Image Neck of my 381. This is admittedly an unflattering picture, but I chose this one to get my point across

It's probably a waste to buy one just to look at but, if I saw an MB come up for sale, I might just grab it.

My 381 has the grey look to it as well. My newer RICs all have the whiter inlays like Paul's. It looks a whole lot better!

My inlays are untreated. The picture was taken in fluorescent light, too. Sometimes you just luck out.

Jetglo ain't bad...someone said it looked like the Dark Knight's guitar.

I love playing the 381. Went out to find, like most people, a 330 or 360 (still want those), but only the 381 was available.

Cost more, but man...can't put it down, even 11 months later.

Here you go Marc,

Goregous Birdseye, L/H, so no worries about playing it and compromising value...it'll stay mint.

Sit on it for 5 years until John Simmons comes beggin' for one...Image

I'm happy to report that I've reserved a 381 BBR. It has been on order since Jan. Looking forward to it.

Thanks for thinking of me John! Too bad you couldn't get it to me by the holidays as you'd have liked!

I think a 381 in a solid color is a waste of the beautifully flamed wood they're made with, so pretty much anything transparent.
