Just today I spotted a Petty signature for sale in Cowtown Guitars, here in Vegas. It had a $2500 price tag on it so I didn't bother picking it up. But cosmetically it looks excellent! He also claims it was formerly owned by Ed King (Strawberry Alarm Clock). I'm not sure if anyone here is looking to pick one of these beauties up, but I just thought I'd share the info. For anyone familiar with Vegas, Cowtown Guitars is on Maryland Pkwy right next to Sam Ash. I also spotted a 400 series guitar, similar to the one in the link below from Mike Parks site. It was burgundy. And there was two Ric 4003 basses, one cream-white with black binding and another was fireglo. Next to them was a faker with checkerboard binding. Definitely a great little shop, he has a lot of nice vintage guitars/amps for sale.

The shop that has sold this Tom Petty Signature guitar says that it was owned & used by Ed King,
Does anybody remember Ed King using this 12 string guitar?

There have been a handful of Fireglo Tom Petty Signature guitars on eBay lately.
There was one that was absolutely mint, NOS, and it went for a pretty high price, so that must have encouraged others who were thinking about selling their TPs to unload them... because there was definitely an increase in the amount up for auction.

Ed King also once owned a 370/12RM (check the "Look Who's Using Roger's RIC" article on the Rickenbacker site). I have firsthand knowledge of this though because I bought it from him in 1998. So I have no problem believing he owned this TP.
BTW, the fella at Cowtown is a great guy and the store is a great place. I met him on my last trip to Vegas. Highly recommended, especially over the ****** Sam Ash nearby.

Thanks, Bob !
That's pretty good info.
I've been looking for a photograph through a net research, but I didn't find any.
But I was told yesterday that this particular guitar was probably used by Ed for the "Born To Run" slide solo. Perhaps someone in the forum can remember something about it.
