Fireglo madness

As most here know, I am very much a fireglo fan, but my love of this finish is becoming unreasonable. I have three other colours, a burgundy 350V63, a mid blue 330-12 & my Bigsby equipped, quilted mapleglo 330. I think most who have seen the pics of my 330MG would agree that it is a pretty stunning looking gtr. It plays great & the sound is great, with it's three toasters (although I much prefer hi-gains) & the wood is the best I've ever seen on a 330 (when it goes, I know I will NEVER find another like it)......BUT! It's not fireglo! As a result, it is almost certainly going to be swapped for a FG something or other & my mid blue 12 is already lined up for a FG swap. I'd even swap my BG 350V63 if I could find a FG one with exactly the same neck!
This will sound crazy to most of you I know, but I just can't help my fireglo craze. A good fireglo is just the most classiest & timeless finish ever & is just irrisistable to me.
Is there a 'Firglos Anonymous', or a help line that I can call? I must admit that I wouldn't want to be cured, but a part of me thinks that it is a shame that I can't really consider buying any other colour than FG, as they are out the exit door within days sometimes.....& Ric finishes are so fantastic.

Ummm...have you considered refinishing some furniture in FG? Say, a table or counter! Perhaps that would take some of the pressure of wanting ALL of your guitars to be FG
Seriously, I agree with your opinion of FG being THE classic Rick finish. I love my 4000FG.
JG is also a classic finish, though.

"Unreasonable" in who's mind, Tony? I've consulted Doctor Rudi on your behalf and he doesn't see a problem at all! He suggests that if it were an
unrequited love there would definitely be an issue to be dealt with. He describes your condition as "marginally unhealthy".
Take 5 or 6 Speckled Hens and call him in the morning........

completely off topic but, Howard, how did you print a word in italics?

Most of my Rics are mapleglo, but not out of choice, that is just what I seem to find. Mapleglo and fireglo (or any finish where you can see the grain through) are my favourite colours though, so it isn't a problem!

Argh... My posts are just passing two models that were never made in left hand versions!

Peter, if you go to coding , on the left, it will tell you how to do it.
Kevin, JG is classic, but it's black & everyone does black, all be it Rics are to a much higher standard. But FG is total Ric.
Howard, please pass on my thanks to the good Dr. & that I will buy him a drink for the info when I meet him. In passing, could you ask him if Newcastle Brown will do in place of Speckled Hen, as I have 20 bottles of Newquay at the moment...oh, make that 19...wait a minute, 18....

Tony, so you drink "dog" or "loony juice" (as it is known up here). I am a Guinness man myself, speaking of which, it's "off to the pub" time in a few minutes!

Oh, and Tony, thanks for the info on fonts. I didn't noticed the "coding" bit before as I never wander far from the centre of the page in case my curser falls off the edge and is never seen again!

Peter, at the left, see the topic heading called "Posting" and under it "Coding".
Have fun!

Doctor Rudi says that's fine, Tony. In fact his response was.... "anything that doesn't start with 'W' or 'T'". Seems he's tried some of those and was singularly unimpressed!
Guess that gives you plenty of room to move.....

Loony Juice eh Peter. I like Guinness, but NB is top of my list..Doombar too. We'll meet up this year wont we, so perhaps we can do a tasting?
Guinness, Newquay & Doombar all pass Dr Rudis criteria, so we should be OK.

Help, my cursor's fallen off the....

ROFL!!!!
So true about FG being completely RIC only. Others try similar finishes, but they're only playing around.
I only like JetGlo on basses for some reason. I plan on getting at least one hollow body RIC 12 string in the future & it'll Have to be FG. No other way about it.
AutumnGlo is nice, but I think I'd rather have that on a 360/12 doubleneck if I could ever find one somewhere in the far distant future. Or a 4080/12. Probably never happen, though.
I say feed the hunger for FG, Tony! And I hear Guinness is good for you!
You definitely have excellent taste

There is nothing that says "Rickenbacker", color-wise, better than FG. And to my eyes, some aged, or ambered FGs (early '80s?) are the most beautiful of all.
Sounds like you've got your food and drink all lined up on this one. FG and Guiness.
