Bee Gees

Post by jwilli »

Just watched The Bee Gees video "Jive Talkin'". The Bee Gee brother who played bass was playing a pretty FG 4001 (with no skunk stripe). May have been a '70-'71 model. Looked like a non horseshoe pickup. Cool.

John,

This bass is now owned by fellow forumite Andrew Winter. Check out the thread dated 12 October 2005 under this same topic for more info and a picture. Nice bass!

Darren, this isn't the same bass. It was a Deluxe 4001.

Andrew owns his first one, it's a 64 I think, great sounding bass on those old 60's Beegee's records before their disco period, very deep. He always played Ric's and owned several white/white ones including Wints' which was a refinish. There was a picture of him from the 70's in Bassplayer right after he died with an early 70's white/white 4001 with a toaster.
