MIDWEST CONFLUENCE SET! MILWAUKEE 21-23 APRIL!
Posted: Wed Jan 04, 2006 6:19 am
OK, guys and gals, we are set. It turned out the best combination of location, accommodation, and price was in Milwaukee. We'll be at the Four Points Sheraton, 4747 South Howell Ave., Milwaukee, across the street from Milwaukee's General Mitchell Intnl. Airport. For those flying in and staying at the hotel, there's a 24-hr. free shuttle.
The dates are Friday April 21, through Sunday April 23 (that's the weekend after Easter, by the way). The room ("Director's 6") is 48'x24' (just a hair under 1,200 square feet) and will cost just $250 total for the three days! I'll probably ask for contributions at the door from attendees to cover expenses. We'll be getting a special group rate of $89 on overnight rooms. I'll be getting back to you all for any special group code you'll need to book rooms.
For airline travelers, Milwaukee is best served by Midwest Airlines (formerly Midwest Express) and Northwest. There's also limited service by Delta, United, and American. Milwaukee's airport is a breeze compared with Chicago's O'Hare.
Driving is easy. Go to Chicago and turn North!
More later, but I'd like to hear from those who plan to attend. If you do attend, please bring your own guitar stands. We should have a few small amps (I can bring one bass amp), but let's not bring Marshall stacks. Quiet playing is permissible, as usual.
OK, let's hear it! Who's coming?
