Man, after 10 years of lusting, I finally have my own Rickenbacker. The neck (thicker than any of my other guitars at 0.92") fits my hand like a glove, and after installing new strings and tweaking the setup a little, I can't put it down! Image

Thanks to everyone here for helping me search, and Peter for running such a great community.

A couple surprises though: the Hi-Gains don't put out as much juice as the pickups in my Telecaster, and the low, flat frets will take some getting used to!

Scott no worries about the double post. We have a great webmaster, I am confident that he will fix that.

Congrats on your purchase. I routinely switch between my Strats and my Rics. I have a new love too my V64 also in JG.

They do take some getting used to, especially if you are used to playing lead on a Tele or a Strat. They are worth the effort though.

BTW you will find that with a bit of tweaking of your amp that you will get the sort of sound that you are looking for.

Congrats, Scott! If it didn't come with a manual, download one from the RIC site. It will help you sort out the peculiarities of the fifth knob.

Love JG 330s...beautiful simplicity. and the rosewood neck is brought out by the darker finish.

Scott....they've got you now....they're under your skin....it may be your first...but it won't be your last!

Whats a Woot?
It's Internet speak for "Whoo hoo!"

330's are great, just great. I bought a Vox AD50VT amp just for my 330 - great combination.

Congratulations, Scott! A 330 is a great start. The usual response around these parts is "now you need to get a 12 string!", so I'll play the devil's advocate.

In the meantime, have lots of fun with the 330.

Hey Ken, I'm with you on the woot what? Why I was wondering what a woot weighs?

A woot weighs two smoots, which are 3.1 yards long each.
