I'll be there. I suggest a Sunday to avoid Saturday night gig problems & somewhere central....I have some ideas & will email off list.
Really looking forward to this.

How about turning this into a proper event: some live bands, stalls (personal and commercial collections - maybe an opportunity for Mike Smith to do some face-to-face business ??) etc. I know Tony has an established live band as do I (
www.smallworldnet.co.uk). I'm sure there are other UK "Rickenbacker" based bands out there too who could provide some entertainment. If this is to happen we have to make it an event that people sign-up to in advance (i.e. buy tickets for - non profit of course!).

I plan to be in London for 5 or 6 days in the first week of October. If not for a confluence, at least to have a few beers with you guys! Somewhere, somehow.......

OK Howard, it's a date....keep us informed. You can come & stay in Teignmouth for a night or two, or I'll come up to London.

At this stage the plan is to fly out of Chicago around the 4th or 5th, Tony. Maybe I could catch you doing a gig the following weekend? Now that
would be cool!! Instant Rampant Carnivores fan!!

I'm planning on both, Graham. A few days in London either before or after Tony's gig. I should also try to get up to Belfast to see the relatives, I suppose.......

Why wouldn't they?? Even though I hardly know you I'd give you a character reference. Oh... hang on, that may have the reverse effect!!

Sheena, I'm dying to know how someone with an Irish-sounding name has come to live in Russia? And what is a "Copyholder"?

Paul: a) well, we have different names here, including Louisa-Maria and even Perestroyka, and there are Jim's and Sam's as well; it depends on how much parents are willin' to "show off" with their kid's name

; b) a copyholder can be both a corrector and an editor... i'm the latter at the moment, was the former about a year ago.
Aitch: i'm tryin' to imagine ME trying to get a visa at YOUR reference

No offence meant, of course. I may explain the situation to you offline, if you're interested...
