I have been thinking about doing this for some time and might as well do it now that more are getting into the rightful hands of their owners. Please provide the number in the series, serial number and anything else you feel comfortable with such as your city/state, when you took delivery, where you bought it from, and anything else you could think of.

Although your intent is good, the information could easily be used by scammers. Someone posts an auction using stolen pics, then uses the serial number/certificate info to bolster any inquiries. I believe this is why Ric doen't recommend sharing this info.
Just a thought...

I've debated that and it is one reason why I haven't done it in the past but when the idea was brought up by someone else I gave it a shot. Plus most of this info has been posted here before. I also think if the info is out there in the hands of non-******** then we are more informed and can help shoot down some of the scams......as members here have done in the past. There is good and bad involved in just about anything.......an educated purchaser is the only defense against the scams and, IMO, there are plenty of ways to verify authenticity and if a buyer falls for a scam based solely on a serial #, some pics and an edition number they are asking to be taken anyway.
Unlike some other vintage or collectible Rics it would also be almost impossible to pass off a counterfeit LK with a bogus jackplate with correct serial number.
I'd rather have the info passed by email to me so it isn't on the web but then it looks like I'm up to something and it also hinders anyone else who may want the info for the right reasons.....a scammer/thief will always find a way around it.
Also.....it's the same info on Peter's massive database and that doesn't seem to be posing a problem.

I feel comfortable with the info I've supplied, especially considering Peter's existing database.

Hey Sean, mine looks just like yours, but I'm working on the crying thing, and the real thing.
Brian, never thought about it, but as you mentioned, this may indeed offer a valuable resource to one searching for a LK as it documents ownership so to speak. It would also offer contacts for members doing shopping research.
With only 60 out there, having a good number of them listed here would make life a little more difficult for bottom feeders.

Walked by Sam Ash in NYC, and she was in the window. Picked it up sometime the next day - I believe it was late 2001. One interesting note - This bass had a black and gold raised lettered TRC when I bought it. I sent the TRC back to Ric, and they supplied me with the correct part.

Ordered from Mike Parks sometime in 2001 and received in December 2005.
Tony - Your story is like finding a winning lottery ticket, and worth almost as much at this point. Have you guys been watching the posted prices for these basses lately? I am starting to have second thoughts about gigging mine.

Gig it Dave.....that is what it is made for!
I have mine insured for $10K through my homeowners policy and I stopped worrying about it. I am a little more selective in where I take it but it still sees 80% of my gigs.
Jared....just a certificate number.....c'mon !!!!!

Tony, man what a story. That's the type of thing that if you saw it in a movie you would think, yea, right, that would never happen in real life. #9 is the lowest number I've heard of, great catch!
There would have been a fist fight if I had walked up at the same time. That is if you were under 5", under 100lbs, and over 80 yrs old. Shoot, you probably would have still kicked my butt over a LK. I'm gonna go have a good cry.
