Help! Today disaster strikes!

I have owned my 4001V63 for nearly 19 years now and I’ve never had a problem. Today I go and adjust the neck (all this dry heat in the house) and the top truss rod (near the e-string) when you go to tighten it twists back! Has anyone seen this before? Dose anyone what is wrong with it? Is the rod shot? What should be done Help!
