4001V63 Truss Rod Problems

I have owned my 4001V63 for nearly 19 years now and I’ve never had a problem. Today I go and adjust the neck (all this dry heat in the house) and when I attempt to tighten the top truss rod (near the e-string)it twists back! Has anyone seen this before? Does anyone what is wrong with it? What should be done? Help
