Restoring a 1966 Ric 310

Hello all, I have a Ric 1966 310 that needs to be restored. I have no idea where to have it done. Any help would be appreciated, I'm in San Francisco but would be willing to send it any where for a pro job. It was modified to look like John Lennon's, refinished, a bigsby put on but, for some reason had a DaArmond pickup put on it in the bridge position. I'd like to put a Rickenbacker pickup back on the bridge position, leave the middle pickup on but disconnected and put a Ric tail piece on . I think the whole thing will have to be refinished also. Thanks

Big job

Have you gone to see Gary Brauer/Brawer (however it's spelled) in the City?
Have you talked to Hideo Kamimoto in San Jose?

If you'd like me to quote this let me know ...

Thanks, I go to Gary all the time and I think he's the greatest but, he does't do refinishing. I don't know who Hideo Kamimoto is but, would love to know more. Do you have hes phone number? I'm not sure what you mean by quote this.

What I mean is ,if you can't find anyone to do the work in the bay area and you can wait till after February than I might be able to take this on .At the moment I'm slammed .
And I'm trying to finish all the repair work that I currently have so I can concentrate on other things.
But ...I do need to pay the bills and into the first quarter of the new year I might be available .
Hideo has been around since the 1960's and was the first person to write a book on guitar repair that was really thorough .
Irving Sloane was the actual first (to my knowledge) but Hideo's book was a huge success in the field ,at that time .I still refer to it now and then. He's a terrific guy and he showed me many things that I never would have learned at the Rickenbacker factory ....just a different set of circumstances

Thanks Mark,

I can wait until after February. I'd like to have a pro look at it because, when the put the middle pickup on they put it on in slightly the wrong place. So it will have to be moved a little. But to make matters worse, I'm not sure if the guitar is a 60's body or a 70's body. I've had the pots and the serial number checked out from Rickenbacker and they all match up to be a 66 guitar. But, the neck pickup has been routed into the body. And I've noticed a few other differences like where the back of the neck attaches to the body, is a little different from my other 67 325. And, Where the tail-piece rests is cut a little deeper than my other 67 325. And last of all, although the headstock is small and slim, it's not quite the same shape as my 67 325. In any case, it definately needs a professional to look at it.

So please do give me a quote. And where are you located?
