Ah, the joys of the first Rick. My first one was Fireglo but I owned several Jetglo 4001s through the 70's and 80's.

I went out for the day with my wife on Saturday. "let's have a look in this guitar shop dear" shortly afterwards I walked out with a new 4003 in midnight blue. People have mentioned this in the past but pictures don't do this colour justice as I had seen it previously online but never considered it.

I can also say that this is the best bass I have ever played and now I've got the RIC bug. Help!

I want another one now. Why does this happen to RIC owners?

Is it the looks, the sound, the easy to use catches on the case or the fact that my case smels like maple syrup inside? Mmmm syrup

Yours is maple syrup? Mine are all the vanilla ones.

You mean that this is intended?

I thought that my bass had maybe travelled in the back of a pancake wagon to the guitar store.

Do the cases really smell like this? If that's the case then what about the aroma of burnt Seville Oranges for the new amber fireglos?

After a few weeks of playing in bars, mine smelled like stale beer and smoke.

Not complaining mind you.....
