Hiya,

My friend is being messed around on a 4003 he got in Brum at sound control - he's ging to get his money back and wants to order one from somewhere else - I got one from a shop in the midlands (first ric I ever saw in person) and then another from Peter Cooks (a montezuma) for £850ish - basses there are now £950 I think anyone know anywhere that beats that?

Cheers

Try RIC's R US. He isn't an authorized dealer, but I purchased a RIC from him recently and he was great to deal with. Gave me a good deal as well. Folks in the UK seem to enjoy working with him. Check him out.

I got my Monty Brown from Peter Cooks too Ronan...paid around £840, but that was coming up to two years ago...I think it was mid February 2004.

There were two in the shop when I got mine...wonder if yours is the other?

Guys, is that THE Peter Cook. You know, the guy that built John Entwistle's Fenderbirds? (Peter did build them right?)

Yes Dave,it is THE Peter Cook, but he no longer runs the shop though it still uses his name.

He used to run the shop in the sixties...The Who amongst others were regular clients.....I think Peter Cook moved on in the eighties...I'm not too sure exactly when.

I've bought 3 Rickenbackers from Peter Cooks Guitar World in the last 3 years (a 4003, 4003 Fretless and a 360/12) as well as 3 other guitars and I find them very helpful and are probably one of the few authorised dealers that keeps a decent amont of Ricky stock.
