I have spotted a B-410 amp for sale locally, and was wondering what a fair price would be. Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I paid mine 600 euros, about the same in dollars, which is a really good price considering it was a 100-watter with 4 10" good speakers but whose left channel was shaky. I had to pay 100 € more for a repair (the FET + a few caps + general check-up) which often happens with old valve amps. Still a fair price imho.

I forgot: I live in France, where prices for american instruments are obviously higher than in the US...

Well, $450-$500 tops seems to be the average on the West Coast. Speakers are unusual, and some parts are hard to get. I've still got a small supply of knobs and transformers if needed.

jean,
I too live in France and have un grand amour pour les Rickenbacker. I have a 360 & 660, but in the middle of finalizing a trade of the 660 for a 360/12.
I know another guy who has a TP/12 in France that I have spoken via the forum.

Best regards,
david

Hi,

I think that I have two amps just like yours. We bought them from a guy in San Diego who collected amps. He bought them when the Rick warehouse was being cleaned out and they had kind of been forgotten and were brand new/old.
We bought them and have used them a few times. Most of the past 8-9 years they have been in storage.
My husband passed away 5 years ago at age 40. I play a little and I really cannot use these. Too big.
These really are quite mint I would have to say. Need money Thinking of listing on e bay. Do you know what they are worth or what I should ask. One has casters and the other does not. Looks just like your I think, as your picture is
blurred ? hard to tell. There are (4) 12 inch speakers.
I will probably keep one to play and sell the other as I have a 381v69, a 12 string RICK and a old John Lennon kind of guitar which I think was made in 1980 before he died
So these are "time capsule like" vintage
Any help anyone could give me would be nice

Thanx Margaret! A picture says 1000 words, so it would do us all a world of good if you could post photos of these relics. It would help in positive identification, also you might get a sincere buyer real quick.

undel displays on his web site and looks like his B 410. However my model plate does not say that. I will describe the amp as best I can.
The amp is all black. It measures 28"x 271/2" x11".
There are four speakers which are approximately 10 " in diameter with very heavy magnets in them.
The control panel is located on the front of the amplifier at the top and is the length of the top of the amp. There are two on and off switches and to the left of those toggle switches are two bulbs; red and below it yellow. The top is power and the lower is standby.
Moving from left to right is a black knob which brushed aluminum at it's center and this is the master knob, these knobs are like what is on the guitars. 0-10 in cicular fashion. Next is a bank of knobs, seven total; speed, depth, reverb, bass, mid, treble, and volume and then a thumb switch labeled bright and two jacks for cords.
Next is a smaller bank of knobs labeled bass, mid, treble, volume and another thumb switch which says bright and two more jacks.
The back of the amp is open whith the exception of behind the control panel which looks to have some large tubes, small tubes and some transformers? And this area is guarded with a solid back however you can get under and look above and see the tubes ect.
There are a couple of badges on the back . A slow blow fuse, a power outlet, footswitch jack. Also an output area which allows you to run other speakers off it I think.
The badges are not too helpful
Model B long space and then the letter .E
The serial number is NV236
Again these units look like new and this is all I can tell you.
Does anyone know what these two amps are, when made and approximate worth.
The magnets??? will this help are stamped
1cbaca16ax and appear to have been made in 1967? at 1930 military time.
I will try to borrow a digi camera and send a picture.
They are both quite mint and work well

It sure sounds like a Model B410, except that the E suffix was for 220V 50Hz models. Could have been converted, I suppose.

I'll bet the speakers actually say 10BAGA16AX, which was the Eminence model number. (Why do I remember that after all these years and not my own cell phone number?)

Dear John,

I think you are correct about the serial number. The speakers do look like it is written baga on closer inspection.
Does anyone know what a mint asking price might be? Thinking of selling and do not want to sell short?

Margaret, an estimate in another thread I can't find right now stated that $450/500 was a correct price for this amplifier. The NV part in the serial number means it was built in Sep. 1974.
