Dave's the high bidder - gee, you'd think that the 362/12 MG would have satisfied The Thirst for a while ...

Sorry guys, I got excited when I saw it...
I have a low bid on it, I am sure I will not get it...

I wonder if this is the same one that came over from Germany a bit ago...

Dave: I don't think it's the German one, that one was from the early 70s if memory serves me...

.....my favourite colour. Unfortunately haven't got the funds the moment, or I'd be all over it. Good luck to all interested parties....

Your right John...
Thinking about the one from Germany, it had the original case and case candy too.

I apologize for my ignorance....part of my continuing Rickenbacker education...but why is the 4000 such a sought after model? I know it has a contoured body, but what does it SOUND like with only ONE pickup?

"... but why is the 4000 such a sought after model?"
Because it was discontinued.
"but what does it SOUND like with only ONE pickup?"
Flip down the selector switch on your Ric and you'll have a general idea.

Tony, others here can answer this better than I can, but I don't think they made all that many.

Ilan: I guess I didn't ask pointed enough questions...
Discontinued, good point!
What I should have asked in a clearer way was: With only one pickup in the body cavity, is the space below the pick guard routed or solid? Is this one of the set neck models? Fat neck/thin neck...You know the drill.
I should have been clearer.
Dave: thank you too! Being scarce would explain it, I was just trying to get a feel on the thing.

With the switch down it'll sound like a 4000 if the cap has been removed unless it's a post-84 4003 which doesn't have one.

And even scarcer are 4000FLs ...
