I know this was from 2004:

"These are handcrafted, inspiring instruments that need an experienced hand to adjust and play. I like his philosophy of making "paintbrushes for musicians", which is exactly how I view my Rickenballers"
...I wish I could see a pic of this bass

Actually, the Wishbass stuff looks pretty cool for how inexpensive it is . . .

I dunno about that, a Wishbass seems like a waste of a piece of a dead tree in my opinion.

Personally, I must say that if you didn't order yours with a trussrod, you're pretty stupid. That being said, it's also pretty stupid that trussrods aren't standard. But still, why on earth wouldn't you get one if you could?

I have seen it. I emailed the reviewer after I read the review and he sent me some pics. It actually didn't look too bad. The best looking bass Wish has ever created that's for certain. The finish was a little rough but the body and headstock shape looked fairly accurate. The reviewer told me he traced the entire outline of the bass and sent it to Steve Wishnevsky.

Everything I have read has said they were a complete waste of money. If you order the truss rod the price probably goes up to 1200. You get what you pay for but why waste the money on one of those when you can get a decent mass produced instrument for like $200 nowadays.I have read 3 different reviews that pretty much say their bass looked like a drunk redneck carved it with a spoon. I agree some of the designs on his site look a bit interesting and at one time I wanted to order one. But after reading all that stuff I don't know.

You should go to Talkbass.com and check out the Wishbass threads there. Hilarious! A bunch of TBers got together and bought one so that everyone could play it, review it and ship it to the next collective buyer. The comments are pretty funny.
