_THIS SONG ON "HEAR HERE" SOUNDS AN AWFUL LOT
LIKE "LEARNING THE GAME" BY BUDDY HOLLY . DID THE
SEARCHERS MISSPELL IT OR WAS IT A TYPO AT MERCURY
RECORDS ?
Led In The Game?
I don't know who screwed up, but it's the same song, and they sing it as "Led in the Game". Rest of the lyrics are straight up from Holly's song. There was a tribute album two years ago to Buddy-called "Not Fade Away". Waylon Jennings did "Learnin the Game" on it. Nanci Griffith did "Well, Allright", and the Hollies did "Peggy Sue Got Married"-with Buddy Holly. Like the Beatles w/ Lennon-only much better.
I think Holly was a major influence ("Listen to Me"), along w/ Phil and Don. The only reason I can think of for changing the title might have been a problem over rights to the music (Norman Petty)

Now I will have to check out the Hullabaloos version.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm
