I dont think so...the TRC doesn't say Made in USA on it, and the treble PU surround is really throwing me off...but I don't see a lof of fakers with 2-pc. pickguards. ?????

It could be a legit 4003 with some wear, if it is the buyer stole it.

It doesn't look right. None of the hardware fits straight.

The pick guard looks uneven at the split. I don't have an early 4003 to verify, but it looks fishey to me. A $300 BIN tells you something's up. Steve pointed out the TRC does not say "Made in USA." It also does not look like a neck thru.

It looks real to me. But I'm thinkin' it wasn't made in 1970.

Oh, there's NO WAY that is a '70, more like an '82, IF it's real.

It looks like a real early '80s 4003 to me. What a great deal.

looks like a bolt on to me.

Charly, I think you're right, there is no neck-thru on that bass, that is what was throwing me!

No stripe?

Yeah....but there was never a stripe on a 4003.
*Except for that one rare example early 4003S MG owned by a forumite that has a MAPLE skunk stripe.

How can you say that this is a faker? Looks real to me exept for the TRC and the two piece pickguard that first came in the 80´s

I think it might be a bolt-on, you usually see the neck-thru on a MG, on this one you can't see it.
