New 360/6 VP Fireglo!

Post by abaron »

I really wish it hadn't taken me so long to get a Ric. After 15 or so guitars, I finally took the plunge. I can't believe how fantastic this sounds (just received from North Coast Music a few days ago) in every respect! My 360 has the vintage pickup option and is great for clean sounds, but I find it does distortion quite well, too. Admittedly, if I need something over the top I use a ZVex SHO to boost the signal (it doesn't color the signal, just boosts it). FWIW, I'm playing it through a Velocette Twin - an excellent match with this instrument.

My major concern was the apparent stickiness of the fretboard, but I find that it just needs to be "broken in" a bit. I've never been so addicted to playing any guitar before.

But one of the really uniquely cool things about this guitar is the fifth knob. I know that many find it useless, but I really love this feature, especially in the middle position.

I think it may be time to sell off some of my other guitars.

Welcome Andrew. Be sure to keep us posted. I enjoyed your comments.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Congrats, Andrew! My first Ric was the same as you, just in Mapleglo.

Take good care of your Ric (maintainance wise) and it will surely take good care of you and your playing.
