Its nice to see one that's provided decades of service.
I like to see an under the bed case queen too, but there's just something cool about one like this that has seen some heavy action and has obviously been somone's favorite bass for so long.
I salute her!

Me too Jeff... and judging by the early bidding we're not the only ones who feel that way!
For a bass to earn that much wear you know she has to be a Hell of a player...

The seller assures us "it will go to the highest bidder". That's a relief. You don't see that much anymore on Ebay.

Damn. I was hoping it could go to the lowest bidder.
Guess I'm out.

It looks like a good refin project. Nice that the seller has reasonable expectations for a change.

It's really nice to see an honest seller. The price is not ridiculously high (optimistic, they would say), the condition has not been misrepresented, and as far as I can tell, all the information about the bass (year, no refin, replaced tuners, etc.) is completely accurate. Yay for people who know what they're talking about!

Wow.. what a player. My treble pickup isn't green like that, but the pole pieces have chips out of them. And mine has some serious rash on the back (not like that bass). I like it. Now if it could only get the price of say a really beat up Fender.

It says south Louisiana. I wonder if it had been floating around the area, as it were.

Good eye, John. Looks like a 4003 Hi-Gain in the neck position. When I bought my 73 it also had a newer 4003 neck pickup, I replaced it with a toaster.
