Recently got a CD by a Finnish Intrumental group called The Charades, it is a fairly recent release probably never released in UK or US but reason I feel it relevant here is that they do some good versions of sixties tracks. Here's one as an example who did original what is the song

Thanks!
In all fairness I should point out that as a little kid I liked the DC5 a lot (more than the Fab Four) and that "Having A Wild Weekend" was the first LP I ever bought. (I was about nine or ten I guess.)

Well done Rob, I actually meant who did original but clearly you know that, no one would get who the group playing are. Good version, do you agree?

Okay, if we're "gone for" instrumentals...

Two versions of this song (including this one) were released the same year - name the song, the year of release, the acts and (optionally) the member of a famous 60s band who recorded it for an album which was released 2 years after he passed away...

Sounds like the Ventures not sure if you mean another instrumental version or Beach Boys version.

The other answer you want I believe is Tom Fogerty

Hmmm... right, but... when i was a kid, my Dad told me that "mr John" or "mrs Peggy" in UK were used when talking to a waiter/waitress or a hairdresser... Image He was joking perhaps... i hope so...
(sorry for moving off topic - couldn't resist...)
