I just hit the BIN on it. The inlays appear to be full width. Of course it is not an '88 but an '85 or so.

I think it just looks this way in one pic, but the others look like later-style inlays. But with Rics, never say never...

Very good deal, by the way!

If you blow up this image, the inlays looks full width.

Not doubting you Ted but why would an '88 have full-width inlays? I really can't tell from the pics though.

Ted you could be right, or maybe it's a '72 neck on an '88 body.. (-;

They kinda look full length Ted, but it looks like modern inlay material. I'd have to say its just the pics.

Great deal by the way.

Nice score Ted! I can't believe that went by 112 looks before you BINed it.
The upper 3 frets appear to be the newer style.
I have to agree with Scott.

It could be the color is not all that popular to a wide audience. I agree the bass is a terrific deal- though I don't go for red w/ black trim personally.

If it were me I'd refin is in either Sonic Blue or Lake Placid Blue- now that;s a color you haven't seen too often on a Rick- LPB...MMMMM

Let us know what it is when you get it. It probably has a gazillion mods on it up to and including the paint.

That is my fear Scott but the seller says he bought it new in '88 and that it is all original. We shall see. I went after it mainly because I dig the color. The low BIN helped. Image The inlays would certainly be the modern (poured) material. A few recent guitar models featured FW inlays done that way. We have seen some instruments featuring custom and experimental features pop up on Ebay. Remember the JG with laminated (black and white) binding about 6 months ago? I could be all wet on this but even if it is a garden variety Rick, the price was pretty good.

Even if it is just a stock Rick, I dont think you'll be disapointed. I really like the red with the black trim option.

I had this 5'r for a brief period before selling it to Jeff Rath. Pictures just dont do this color combo justice.
