Hey, does anyone have a huge pile of Rick basses that they are restoring...how about some before and after pictures...how about some pictures....I think I have to attend "RICKAHOLICS ANNONYMOUS" soon.

I am finally back in my workshop. After just over a year (too long) of inactivity I am finally doing projects again. I have 6 basses on the pile right now. Two belong to other people, one is mine but promised to someone else and the other three are 4001s in various stages of destruction.

Man, I am DYING here from RAS. I almost bought a FG 4003 from Ebay today just because I miss playing them so much, and am just dying waiting for my BBR. I was just thinking I would love to find a beater that played great just so I can grind on one again. Damn that CS, it got me hooked all over again!

Ok, so here is my pile-O-projects. I have not been able to tend to my favorite shop activity for over a year so it is about time that I finish these. There are two that are not pictured here but will be soon.

In the stand is a lovely '72 from the Boyer collection. On the floor is a trio of '75s that need help. The bottom two are completely messed up. The JG was in a flood. I hear tell that it was actually floating in water when rescued. My cats are hanging around because they did not like their food tonight and they are hoping I will give them something else.

Here is my recently purchased 5er. The previous owner was Bad Ronbo from the Killer Dwarfs. He played the **** out of this bass for about 20 years. It shows, man it shows. I am currently speaking with Paul W. about a re-fin.

Ted, I would be happy to test drive any of those carcasses once you get 'em up to snuff...
Nice job getting the 5'ver, I was looking at that one too.

The '86 5er is a bit of a basket case. It sounds huge but it have to work on the playability. There are some issues in the early ones that were worked out later on. My other 5er is totally sweet and this one will be too after a few fixes. Oh, I almost forgot the fancy '85 4003 that got a lovely set of walnut wings. They look nice.....

Ok-
I just added a 69 4001 to my family.
I guess three 73 4001's, a 4003BBR(still waiting) a 360/12BBR,
and a 381/12BBR(pending...) aren't enough.....

Ted, just wondering, if I happened to purchase a bass that I wanted to have altered slightly (i.e. given walnut headstock wings and have the headstock shaped a bit), would I be able to send it to you with a check?

Robert, there are two projects that I have to complete before I can take on any more. My goal is to be done with them before the end of the month.

Ted, if it helps... I need Paul's 72 body for a project I'd like to work on. If you just ship it here, it'll move the others up the line sooner.

Thanks Marc. Paul's '72 has slightly eroded neck binding routes. The neck binding is more or less paper thin these days and barely even visible. My task is to deepen the routes very slightly and replace the binding. Also, I am to remove the current finish and repair some damaged inlays and body binding.

Ted, whenever they perfect cloning I'm hoping they do you first so we can have a Ted in every town
