Corey....ya know, that's exactly what I was thinking and as a test I used my beard trimmer comb and used it on a Fender (I didnt trust myself with the RIC)
The downstroke sounded pretty good but the upstroke ripped the damn strings right off that plank. A few small hunks of cheap plastic came with the strings.....I think they might be part of the pick guard...not sure.
Dang, now I'll have to drive over to Fender and see if they will reinstall the nut under warrantee, the only problem is I'll have to tell them I was using a Rickenbacker pick and the screws in the bridge let go....they would never believe that I was stupid enough to use a beard trimmer.....Oh well such is life in the fast lane when you love R&R.

These were utterly and totally useless. Bless my dad's soul, had he played a guitar, he would have realized this and prevented many tragic injuries.
I don't remember actually shipping any of these but do remember a stock cabinet full of them.

Just screw one onto an old clapped out Tele neck and you got the best of both worlds....and a backscratcher too.
If that won't work, mount that MP 4-6 on a 500 rpm motor with some Nicads and strap it to the back of your hand like a vibrator....actually, I already have the vibrator, it took the place of the Vibrola.

John Hall: On the flip side of things your father, F.C. Hall, had many good ideas. I am still amazed by the number of innovations RIC introduced. The configuration of the keywinds on the Rickenbacker 12 headstock is but one example. He was way ahead of the curve. Developing a relationship with the Beatles was none to shabby an idea either!
