Hi all, I was just reading on Hofner's website about their electric guitar line. I have to be honest, I[ve never heard about them before. I've read all about there basses (being a Beatles fan). I was curious if anyone here has any experiance with them? Any comments? I really like the looks of the verythin models.
Thanks in advance

Elderly usually has a few in stock. I have played them but never plugged them in. They do play nice.

The Verythins I saw at NAMM were very well made. Great looking, too, if you like that sort of archtop vibe, which I do.
They also have a solid body line (Colorama) that is pretty lowbuck, sound good but look awful IMO.

All of the semi-acoustic models are made at the Hofner factory in Haganau, Germany. That includes guitars and basses. They are all hand made. I had the great fortune to visit the factory a few years ago and see for myself.
All acoustic and solid body models are made in China.

Bob my only experience with Hofner was with my very first electric guitar purchases back in April of 1964. My parents bought it for me. It was used but not abused.
It was an early 1960's LP style Hofner Goldtop solid body guitar. It was a very nice instrument and very well made.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Someday I'm going to get a nice semi hollow body, and I'm always checking out alternatives to Gibson. Hofner seems like a front runner

Vintage Guitar gave the Verythin a rave review in the latest issue. But then again, I don't think I've ever read a negative review in that 'zine.
