Another Hofner question

Do the club models have much of different sound than the Mac models? I guess slightly bigger body on the Club might add some deepness, but will the overall sound be the Macca sound?

I've got an early (around 1993) Cavern reissue and a 2002 Club reissue (#2 out of 100) and they do sound very much alike. The Club has the classic thump of a Hofner. The Cavern may be a little bassier with both pickups so close to the neck but theres not a huge difference between them.
