Well I am happy to report that my Combo 400 has moved from project stage to playing stage. This has been a fun one to work on and it wasn't to tough to find an original set of tuners for it. I had to replace one pot as the original one wasn't working properly. The original Dearmond pick up works amazing and the reading came in at 9.3. I had to replace the nut which I did with a black ebony blank. Everything else is original. Now all it needs is a good paint job. I don't now if many of you have had the opportunity of playing these early Rics but they have a really thick and wide neck which adds to the fun - 21 frets and it feels like a small scale but I don't think it is. Serial number is 4C 7315. It has the original serial plate which of course is the ingenius strap holder.

If anyone knows someone who would be interested in repainting this little gem please let me know.

I'll post some pics when I get my digital camera back.

I'm sure jingle_jangle would love to do your Combo 400! Maybe something like "Pretty Purple" would look great! Image
