The real story of McGuinn's 1st RIC

Does anyone know the real story as to what happened to McGuinn's first RIC, the 1964 360-12 that was converted to a 370-12 and had numerous modifications?

Roger says it was stolen around 1966. Some guy in Seattle has it now and says it's legally his. John Hall refuses to comment specifically about it on the RIC website.

Anyone really know?

Anyone really know?
Wasn't Scott Jennings involved with one of the sales involving that guitar?

Is that the room with the frying pan guitar and the '59 4000?

How did I miss that...oh wait. It's on the same wall as the 4000 right? Was that his first RIC?

Semi-OT but, we played a gig at a guy's house last Saturday, the guy was..uhh..well-off. OK, he was rich! Anyway, I was wandering thru this mansion, looking at the photos on the wall and noticed one of RM, playing acoustic 12, and then noticed he was playing in the guy's house!!! Same room we were set-up in. We got $2K, I wonder how much he paid Roger.

I bet it was more that $2,000! Check out RM's requirements over on his website. If you hire him you basicly have to provide everything for him exept the guitars. You have to provide the mics,stands,D.I.s,etc. I think RM just takes his guitars and the janglebox. The list even covers all the bottled water, wine, dinner that he needs to have when he arrives at your local. Let me see if I can find that link.

It's a pretty standard contract rider for an artist of his stature, nothing out of the ordinary like provisions about brown M&M's <g>

It is called a Contract Rider and they are VERY common nowadays.
Roger's is on this site:

A lot of them are posted on The Smoking Gun.

Ronn, you get 2k for a party!? Wow. Need a new band member?

Mark, that was a cheapy. Tiny PA, no crew except guitar tech, practice amps from home instead of the stage backline, etc.
A private show is usually in the 4-5K range, with the crew, full PA, backline, lights...

Ronn, I am in the wrong state.
(Or the wrong band.)

On a somewhat serious note, it's no secret to me and my band that private parties pay a lot more than bars and clubs. The trick is how to get those party gigs. I've thought about going with an agency but have hesitated so far. Any thoughts on the matter?
We can take this offline, too.
