Waddya think of this baby? A 1948 Chevy Fleetline my buddy's girlfriend is selling. Don't know what she's asking for it...I'd love to own it, but I need it like I need, say, a 4080/12. If anybody's interested, I'll get some more info on it.
BTW, that's my pal 'Punk Rock Eric' Allen lurking in the background...the bass player for The Apples In Stereo, and second guitarist in PW3. He and I are both on the recent Von Hemmling release, although not on the same tracks...we went to different schools together, too. He's a bona fide celebrity...stayed at the White House overnight when he was eight years old and puked in a trash can in the Lincoln Bedroom. Top that, if you dare!

Oh well... i know a guy who topped that...
Jokin' aside, it looks very nice... but it's
not green!

Dane I'm surprised this has not generated a lot of interest. Go figure. If I had the space, the money and the time to come and get it...
Well you get the drift. It's looks very nice. I assume the rest of the car is in similar shape?

It's fully restored...he's going to send me some more detailed photos. She's asking $12K...wish I could afford it...it's 'just my speed'...

Well, I may not have the bread for a 48 Chevy, but I've managed to scrape enough together to take a trip out to sunny SoCal to see my mom and siblings...we're leaving tonight to spend a week out there. The occasion would be my birthday, which is next Tuesday. Ordinarily I wouldn't bring up such a thing, but it's kind of a big one if you're into 'numerology': the big 'Five-Oh'. By this time next week, I'll be a card-carrying member of AARP...the 'thrill of a lifetime'!
So anyway, I'll probably be mostly missing from these pages for the next week...unless I have a chance to drop in and leave 'a quick one while I'm away'...looking forward to a week of no snow-shoveling or windshield-scraping...
Keep on janglin', brothers and sisters...

Well, check you mailbox the Day, anyway, and have a nice trip!
(on a side note... that's a stupid question perhaps, but... what is AARP?)

'Americans Addicted to Raw Prunes'...or is it 'Aging Assh*les Reaping Privileges'...
Not really, it's the 'American Association of Retired Persons'. Don't ask me what 'retired' means; I may not have that word figured out for a couple more decades. But you can bet I'll be loudly demanding my Senior Discount at every fast food joint on the way home...
Okay, I really have to get off the Forum now and get some packing done...perhaps I'll be able to leave a Hunter Thompson-esque message from 'somewhere around Barstow'...

Sheena, it gets you a discount at Bob Evans or I-Hop or Denny's, as far as I know.

70 is the new 50, 50 is the new 30, everybody under 30 is considered a teen-ager.
Maybe by the time I'm 70, it'll be the new 30.
BTW Dane, we'll have sunny weather here in So. Cal til monday, when we're expecting a bit o' rain...
Happy 50th Birthday in advance, you old coot (I beat you to it by 1 1/2 years).
