Hmm... An October 1975 4080. It looks familiar somehow. Or should I say the mods on it look vaguely familiar? Anyway, I hope one of us eventually picks it up.

Nice, but a lot of body routing.

Should be a fairly easy job to restore her to original. I do like FG on a double. Might look really good with gold guards!
Is this the first UK 4080 to come up for sale in a while?
If so, it should be interesting to see what the overseas market thinks is a reasonable price, since the common models sell for a lot there.

The current high bidder looks familiar as well.

Kevin, I think I disagree about the "easy job".
The bad a$$, is most likely recessed into place.
The humbucker p.u. in the guitar was also routed in. On the one Dale is restoring for me now, the humbucker route is my greatest concern. Dale had to add new wood in that area. I fear that it may be seen thru the AG finish.
This one has a good FG finish intact. I don't know what you would do about the guitar route. I think you would have to leave it the way it is, unless you do some major refin work.
Having had said all that, I'll still want it..

The nicest thing about this 4080 are TWO black Plexi TRC's!
I'd by lying if I said I didn't have serious GAS for it now. Let's see how it develops, I might jump in later.

I guess this one has all the same changes that Geddy did?

I think he replaced both guitar pups with Gibbys, and you're right about the route issues, Dave. I was still a little groggy early this morning & not thinking clearly!
A late night (4:00 a.m.) playing & a very bad cold!
The finish does look good & at least the seller seems forthcoming with condition info.
A patch job could be done on a solid color, but FG is a whole different proposition.

Looks like Ken has a jones for a 4080!
Maybe with the mods it might not go too high.
Also, I never knew the Badass bridges needed to be recessed to set up properly. I would never put one on a Rick, it just doesn't look right to me, & I didn't like it when Geddy did that to his either, but that's just my taste.

Sheena needs a doubleneck! It's a lot closer than the other ones for sale recently.

Heey, Kevin, one neck is more than enough for me!

I'm just dyin' to know the end of this story...

One is never enough!
Those skinny necks are ideal for smaller hands. Mine are small, but I have bass player fingers!
