My First Rickenbacker, a 330 12 On The Way

This will be my first post on this forum, but most likely not my last. After GASing for decades for a Rickenbacker 12 string, I finally found a 330 12 MG up in Canada, and its on it way to California. As a lefty, this is not the first guitar I've bought sight unseen. I'm not concerned at all. I know it will be wonderful. My initial impressions and no doubt some newbie inquiries will follow. I'm happy to be here!

We're happy you're here too, Jere! The more the merrier - welcome from Down Under!

Pics are almost a prerequisite for membership these days, so I echo Brian's sentiments. Image

I'm sure you will be very happy with your Rick!

I get it. Pics will be forthcoming, whenever she arrives (hopefully by this weekend). I've never even seen her myself, but the guy @ the store in Canada says its a fine use of wood.

Congrats & welcome. I've only had my 330/6 a short while & can't believe I didn't get one years ago.
Where did you buy it from?
Hurray for MapleGlo.

Congrats, and welcome, Jere! A Ric 12-string is a great first Ric....and if you are like a lot of us here, it surely won't be your last! Playing your first Ric is a magical experience, like falling in love....

Welcome!
Buying a guitar from Canada when you live thousands of miles closer to the RIC factory seems to be taking the long way 'round, but not so unusual when you're not willing to wait for that particular finish you've been after.

I'll never forget getting my first Rickenbacker, a 330 MG, there was one in the city, and I bought it, I took it home and plugged it through a stereo delay into two amps, starting picking and strumming softly, it was like I went to heaven. My only regret was that I never played one until I was 37 !! We ALL envy you losing your Ric cherry and feeling that love for the first time. POW !!!

Nice warm reception. I found the guitar at Avenue Guitars, Ltd in Edmonton, through the Ric website that indicates where certain models have been shipped. Finding a lefty Rickenbacker 12 string is a needle in the haystack proposition. There's a 350v63 12 in Irvine, and one at Southpaw Guitars in Houston. Other than that, I am not aware of any others currently available in North America. Thus, the purchase sight unseen. Found out today it won't make it until Monday, so pics later. I can tell this is the start of something...my Jangle Box is on order as well. Up until last weekend I'd never even heard of a Jangle Box! What next? a Vox AC30?
