He'll probably put a neck on it and call it a special edition.

This seems to be one of those fabled short scale 4001's that were supposed to have been made years ago.

This looks like one for the chef's kitchen.
Considering that I'm cooking this one up.

A shame really, that bass is 1973 or earlier judging from what I see, and Azureglo too.

An argument for capital punishment.

That was once as fine a bass guitar that one could wish for,I think I know Ilan would say so as well. Very sad, very sad...

I have never seen an Azureglo checker with FW MOP.

There was an Azureglo on eBay about two years ago that had checkerboard binding. I think it was a May-August '73 bass because if I remember correctly it didn't have full width inlays. But they are certainly very rare.

"An argument for capital punishment."

The broken off neck could be an accident, but the additional P pickup sure wasn't. That's the saddest part.

Bidding is now at just over $300. Can someone please tell me WHAT ON THIS THING IS WORTH THAT?

There's a decapitated 4001 body with no hardware at www.jamminjersey.com for much less than that.
