Unique 360/12C63 JG?

I just got my new 360/12C63 JetGlo, Beautiful! Tune it up, plug it in and guess what: Wired for Rick-O-Sound with standard tone pot operation (not reversed). Called Ric and the guy said "yeah, a few went out that way"...Hmmm

It came from Guitarville in Seattle. Made in Sept. '05. By the way, it's a beauty, mint with good string spacing and action set-up from the factory. Has the parallel mono jacks, but Rick-O-Sound output which, by the way, has the bridge and neck p/u outputs reversed from the way it is on my '04 360/12. What do you think?

The photo's don't reduce well, but it looks like any other 360/12C63 - no difference. I'd be interested in John Hall's two cents worth...

Thanks JW. What is about the the jetglo that turned you on to this? To me Jetglo looks out of place on this. But I'm interested in your thoughts. Thanks.

Ah... I've already got a 360/12 MG and a 36012CW FG. I thought the 360/12C63 Jetglo would be a nice compliment. Fireglo would have been just as good, but I've never owned a black guitar before. Simple as that. This one sounds, feels and plays different as well.
I'm just surprised that the electronics are different than the Fireglo model. The point of the 'C' series, I thought, was to re-create as closely as possible the original '63 model. It's still a wonderful Ric - I'm not complaining - just curious...

JW - thanks for the info about where you got it. I saw this guitar on the Guitarville site but I already have a JG on order through The Rickenbacker Page.
So, how does it sound, feel, and play differently than your 360/12?

Well... It sounds similar to the 360/12 CW. However it is not quite as bright. It is somewhat heavier in overall weight. The neck has a different feel than the CW and the newer 360/12. I think it is somewhere in between these two in thickness. It’s extremely playable, I like it.
The action is very good and string spacing seems to be right on – quite different than the other stock 360/12’s I’ve played. I think a lot of attention has been focused on this aspect of the guitar.
The fit and finish is otherwise flawless, right out of the case - it’s a beautiful instrument.
I think that if George Harrison, God bless him, had his choice in early ’64 between a Fireglo and a Jetglo, he’d have chosen the latter, based upon looks alone. The Beatles were at that time a hardcore outfit. Black would have fit the image just as well as Lennons' 325.
This guitar arrived with the pitch almost a half-step higher than concert, thanks to UPS and their lousy handling. It does need a truss rod adjustment to straighten out the neck, but a relatively minor one, which I will address shortly.
Once again, the Ric-O –Sound and standard tone controls came as a surprise, but not an un-welcome one. I'd highly recommend this 12 String to anyone.
