For those that are interested, I saw this from John Hall at the Rickenbacker site...

maybe they will start selling the horseshoe pickup to 4003 owners ... and offer a vp upgrade on the 4003 that would include a toaster and horseshoe pickup ...
I wonder if the horseshoe pickup would cover 5 strings? specifically I wonder about the middle A string ... I think it would work fine ... but I don't know ...

So my 4003BBR "Could" come with a Horseshoe, Vintage tone selector AND walnut wings? Wicked. If they could roll out that new bridge design, I'd be all set.

The horseshoe really gets in my way when I play,,,,but damn!!! I really like the way they look.

Maybe it should work like a draw bridge. It would open up while playing but then "close" to look cool otherwise!

Could be linked to the progress of the Trade Mark Application for the horseshoe at the USPTO. Seems to be close to grant.
