I agree, an awful lot for a replica.
I think if you look around for real 'S' series basses a la 4000/4001S/4003S - they're sure to overtake them in price one day, as they're the ones which were the real production Specials, never to be produced again.
I'm sure the V63 or something very very similar to it will be reissued, when Ric get bored of the C64, perhaps? There's always a replica market to fill, it seems.
