ATTENTION EBAY, FELLOW MUSICIANS AND EBAYERS.

SCAM WARNING!!!!!!!!

UNTIL EBAY CAN STEP IN TO ACT AS I HAVE REPORTED IT,

I AM ONLY HERE TO HELP AND IF IT SAVES SOME POOR GUY FROM LOSING HIS MONEY THEN IT IS WORTH THIS LISTING FEE FOR THIS AND ANY TROUBLE I GET INTO.

PLEASE HELP AND RESPOND BY REPORTING ALL CHINESE BASED 'CLONE' ADS TO EBAY. I HAVE ALREADY PUT BIDS ON OF TENS OF THOUSANDS TO PREVENT A FRAUD. WE MUST GET RID OF THESE ANNOYING PLONKERS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS STUNG.

PLEASE HELP BY SCANNING ALL OTHER CHERISHED GUITAR ADS FOR DUPLICATES AND REPORT SUSPICIONS TO EBAY AND PUT SILLY BIDS ON TO PROTECT FROM FRAUDULANT SALES GOING THROUGH.

THEY ARE ALL WITH NO FEEDBACK AND SOME TRY TO CON BY A EURO SALE FROM IRELAND. THEY USE OTHER PEOPLES PHOTOS AND SCRIPTS. LOOK ALSO AT THE 'SELLERS OTHER ITEMS'.

IT IS RIFE AND WIDE SPREAD ACROSS ALL SECTIONS, I CANNOT DO THIS ALL ON MY OWN SO HELP YOUR FELLOW MUSICIANS !!!!

I CAN'T REPLY TO ALL BUT POST SUPPORT FOR ME BY SENDING A MESSAGE TO MY QUESTIONS IN THIS AD. THANK YOU !!

REGARDS, PETE"

EBay will probably kill it.....

Well done Pete!

Scamming is now at a crazy level. Not only on ebay, but also by email. Nearly every day I get an email from the Nigerian bank, a lottery win, to validate my paypal account & bizzarly, even from a high street bank that I don't even have an account with!

Even though the web is important to me in other ways, I have often been tempted just to shut it all down & do without, as the powers that be obviously can't police it.

When I search for "rickenbacker goodies" nothing comes up on ebay. I guess Ebay has taken action? Does anyone see an example of a current scam going on?

It's not that they can't, it's that they won't. However, if each of us sent even one complaint for every ten such scams received to the ISPs supprting the scammers and to the FTC, said ISPs and FTC would be overwhelmed by the shear volume of complaints and they would then do something about it. If the actions of their criminal customers cost the ISPs financially, they would not put up with the situation for a moment.

Here's how laughable these would be if they weren't criminal:

And I think we all know why eBay doesn't do anything about this ******** - like credit card fraud, such criminal activity actually means more profit, rather than loss, for the company.
