It's ebay item # 2516741181. First of all, it's a lefty. Bummer for me. As a late '80s bass, it's interesting in several ways in that it has the narrow upper and lower horns on the body and what looks like a black painted fingerboard (maple?) with tiny dot markers, just like a Blackstar! Maybe it's a refin and the body has been reworked, but as a Blackstar fan, I think it looks cool.

Well I was just asking about the possibility of a Blackstar 5 or 8 after seeing the Redneck 8 on ebay a few months back. I would like John Hall to end the speculation if they actually produced the multi-string models of the 4003SPC line.

What's also very interesting about that 4003S/5 LH on ebay is the truss rod cover whose tip directs southward.

Looks a lot more in harmony with a lefty headstock.

The instrument is not a true Blackstar in that it was not issued as part of the limited edition. However, its serial number is in between those of the second and third Blackstar produced which suggests to me that this was a special request from Southpaw Guitars, the original seller of this guitar.

Thank you John for the information, but were there 5 or 8 string basses made with the typical Blackstar jetglo boards other than special orders?
