This may be a stretch but I remember the introduction to "Not The Lovin' Kind" by Dino, Desi and Billy resembling the Needles and Pins riff. Billy played a Rickenbacker 360/12 on this song as well I believe.

I understand that Cliff Richard may be covering "Needles and Pins" on his next CD. You just have to think that he will do a great job on this one.

Tony Jackson's release "You Beat Me To The Punch" (I hope I have correct title) has the Needles and Pins riff. Go figure.

There's also one like it on one of the early songs by The Who, I think on the A Quick One LP, I don't know the title right now.
