I haven't started a thread in awhile, I'm psyched about my shot here, a pinky FG can photograph quite splendidly, doncha think ? This could be the album cover for my up-and-coming CD. I think musical content should be considered in the next calendar. Yeah, it's cool to photograph Ric's in a couch, porch, or driveway, but I like shots that suggest that they are "alive".

Man, I shoot this inspiring shot, doing what we all love, playing our Ric's, and ZERO response

Maybe I shouldn't have displayed my vanity on the master curmudge's stage/page, but I thought this topic was dedicated to Rickenbacker beauty. WHATEVER ;(

Steve: Very nice shot. I just noticed the thread. Don't sound so needy...

You know, you put yourself out there, and get no love in return. I am a flower child, at heart, but a needy child, as well

Shine on, Mr. Jangle, I meant no disrespect, all is good. I know I barked about the calendar, I am also a smart-*** by nature. Hah hah !

Thanks guys, I was just joshing, for the most part, except the part about wanting attention

In 6 months, this will be done, and I will post the music, I am very proud of it, so far, I play all the instruments. Chime on ...

I just found this, too...odd. Post all you want, Steve. My own oversight was not intentional.
BTW, any Rick looks fabulous in stage lighting. Yours could be any-color-glo; no way to see pink-glo in all that orange.
I'll agree--you're a smart-***. Far better than being a dumb-***!

I've always loved how my FG 4000 looked under stage lighting. The Amber FG's should look equally splendid.

Cheers to Randy for being an 80s college rock fan and dry-humoring me ! This place can be a gas !! Too much Jim Beam ... er ... you guys are gonna LOVE this stuff !

What I really want to say is, there is no better way to appreciate your Ric than to record it in a song, I have been doing that for the past year, and it always blows me away. Especially now that I have a 12-string - it doesn't totally gell at every instant it is in there - but there are these, like, "Ric moments" in there (new catch phrase?), when the jangle of the 6 and 12-strings blend together, and notes are dancing around in unison and harmony, and for that brief musical moment, you did it, without really trying. I hope that the shot, I took, conveys that feeling in some way, that is what I was hoping to achieve ....

Cool pic, Steve. My apologies for not noticing your thread. Due in part to watching a post in a thread I started receive no response either. Life can be cruel!!
I would be a good album cover - reminds me a bit of a Johnny Rivers one I have at home. I guess you'd have to get the 'seal of approval' from JH though!
More "Ric moments" to you........

I should have quit while I was ahead !! Yes Paul, my lighting technique did indeed neutralize the true impact of the finish on the image, but that toaster sure shines, the message is clear. The latest song under the knife is a jangle pop/rock song, written by a guy who withstood Wilma's thrashing last year, and dragged through a rough '04 season, as well, it's called "Better Than Hurricanes". It's about a guy who digs a chick because she doesn't just roll in and wreck his life ! It is pure Ric/jangle heaven - you will love it !! When I listened back to it, the next day, i.e., today, I thought I went a little overboard, with the effects on the 12-string, but I tried it again, with less effects, and it didn't sound much different ! The effect is inate to the machine, itself. Awe-inspiring, I just gave in to the instrument, accepted the soultry and evasive sound as it was, and it is beautiful !!

You have nice hands, Steve.
