After installing, then removing a pickguardian surround, and reinstalling the Ric surround...bridge PUP is not working. There is output as long as I have both hands touching a combination of strings and surround. No hands on metal on the bass, no output. I'm not an electrical whiz but this sounds like grounding to me. I've double checked the ground connection is properly located between the surround and spring.

I guess I've messed something up here...any ideas on what (before I lug it off to the shop)?

Never mind...found what appears to be a broken connection at what I am guessing is the ground lead to the pickup. I secured the wire under the eye washer on the screw that mounts the plastic base to the magnetic base for temp fix...off to the shop anyway for soldering job.
