Check this out. Near the end, right after they show Jagger in the studio, they show the back of the Rick's peghead and neck. Still Fireglo!
I've seen a photo of this, but never the film footage.

The role of the Les Paul in this track, at least as suggested in this video is also quite interesting.

As this point Paul had someone who knew woodworking strip the MMT paint job off of the front of the bass, that's why the all of the contours of the bass are still intact. The later job when the horns were sanded off can be attributed to him personally.

If you watch the Two of Us you'll see the bass stripped. it's behind Paul as he's playing the acoustic. Screen capture anyone?

I always thought that George played the Tele in "Get Back", and he does in the second part of the film, but has the LP in the first part. And Paul is playing both basses. *sigh*

See, these guys are diabolical. Somehow, they KNEW that 40 years later a bunch of us middle-aged guys would sit around for hours and obsess over WHICH instruments they used on WHICH tracks, so they DELIBERATELY went out of their way to use different instruments in different films, splice them all together and sit back and laugh at us.

I just KNEW it, it's all a conspiracy -- Paul really IS dead, Elvis faked HIS death, there were TWO gunmen on the grassy knoll, and this whole thing is being manipulated by Howard Hughes and Big Oil.

I'm not really sure we are seeing only "Get Back". I'm sure they put several different clips in them just playing. Still a cool shot of the RIC.

They did indeed put multiple sessions together Brian. Hence the two basses for Paul and two guitars for George.

Thanks for capturing the 4001 Fireglo Bill.

It is also interesting to see the role of the Fender amplifier in the Beatles' sound later in their career.

Paul,

I never noticed that in Two of Us before! I can't really tell if it is stripped or just a glare. Too hard for me to tell on the Youtube video.
Anyone have this on DVD or the old VHS?

It would be cool to button down the dates of these clips to pin-point when the bass was re-finished (or de-finished)!

If I'm not mistaken, all of the 'Let It Be' film footage was shot during January '69.

Kevin, I watched the YouTube Two of Us and it is lacking in quality. There are clear shots of it with the stripped front.

That was not Jagger in the video. I must say it does look like a young Jagger. He had much longer hair at that time. See the "Rock n Roll Circus Video."
