Treble E string is dull through amp

When I play my 360 6 without an amplifier every strings sounds awesome. When I plug in though the high E string seems very low. The pickup height is consistent rather high on the high E side.

I also want to ask if lowering the pickups a little bit would reduce the high gain? It's seems a bit too distorted.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Thank you.

A compressor may help. I have had that problem myself, I wish the high E would ring out more on Rics, sometimes. You may also consider using a fatter string, just for the high E.

i've found lowering the p/ups to be a great idea for more than one reason (it helps intonation too). i had mine so low i had to take the grommets out when i had hi-gains. it helped reduce the biting sound that hurts my ears about them.

i haven't experienced the e string prob...are you using ric strings?

Yes. Brand new RIC strings. I adjusted the bridge height, pickup height and adjusted the intonation which was way off. This RIC is brand new. I even sent it back for a adjustment I thought I could not make and it still came back with a poor setup. It is much better now.

Thanks everyone.
